Pogs - Unisex Softstyle T-Shirt

In the 90s, pogs was a hugely popular game among kids in the Philippines, as it was in many parts of the world. The game involved collecting and playing with small, round cardboard discs, called pogs, often decorated with colorful designs, cartoon characters, or popular logos. Back in the day, the most common way of acquiring these pogs was from buying a popular brand of soda (think CC that sounds like am illegal substance when abbreviated) because they gave them away with purchase. Kids in the Philippines, like elsewhere, played pogs competitively, with the goal of winning their opponents' pogs in a friendly but intense game. Here’s how they played:

Setting Up the Stack: Each player would contribute an equal number of pogs to create a stack. The stack was placed face-down in a pile, usually on a flat surface like the ground, a desk, or a mat.
Choosing Slammers: Each player had a slammer (sometimes called a hitter), a thicker, heavier piece, or often times just their best pogs.
Taking Turns: Players would take turns using their slammer to hit the stack of pogs. The objective was to flip as many pogs as possible from the stack. To do this, the player would usually hold the slammer above the stack and throw it down with enough force to flip the pogs.
Collecting Pogs: Any pogs that landed face-up after a turn were collected by the player who flipped them. The pogs that remained face-down were restacked, and the next player would take their turn to hit the stack.
Winning: The game continued until all pogs were flipped and collected. The player with the most pogs at the end was considered the winner. Often, players would keep the pogs they won, so it became a way of building up a collection.
