While the doctor turns away or closes their eyes, the group starts to twist, turn, and step over or under each other to create a tangled human knot. The challenge is to make it tricky but not impossible to untangle. Once the group feels satisfied with the complexity of the knot, they call out, “Doktor Kwak-Kwak!” to summon the doctor. The doctor turns around and begins the task of untangling the players by directing them to move in specific ways, such as stepping over or ducking under linked arms. The doctor must ensure that the players keep holding hands throughout the untangling process. No links can be broken during the game. The game continues until the circle is fully untangled or the doctor decides it is too complicated and cannot be resolved.
